A bug with Google Shopping Ads saw a spike in cost per click (CPC) to over 200% this weekend.

Google has confirmed that there was an issue at 2 am (BST) on Saturday morning and 11 am that affected Shopping Ads. They have identified and fixed the issue, with everything back working as expected now.

We are working with our Google Premier Partner team to understand the issue a little more and will update our customers when we know more. The good news is that Google has confirmed that they will be issuing refunds for the “difference in ad spend”, by Friday the 3rd December 2021.
